Our story
The concept for RIVAL as a Saas platform was born out of a desire to eliminate all time, energy, costs and frustrations caused by excel based valuations related work.
Avance has been supporting more than 400 clients over the last 2 decades. By doing so we experienced first hand and on a daily basis the pain of working with excel based models for facilitating strategic decision making in the field of valuation, licensing, financing and M&A.
The overarching objective of the RIVAL platform is to empower biotech executives around the world to capture the value they create by developing therapeutic assets for improving people’s lives. Avance was founded in 2004 by Boris Bogdan and Ralph Villliger with the goal to contribute to that mission which is engrained in the company today.
